Fr. IGNATIUS TRAN
Pastor of St. Gerard’s Parish
August 1, 2017 to present

Fr. Ignatius was born and raised in Vietnam and lived there until his escape from the communists in 1980, due to religious persecutions. He arrived in Hong Kong after an arduous journey on the sea and lived in the refugee camp for 5 months, arriving in Canada on October 27th, 1980.
       He continued his education in the Seminary of Christ the King in Mission, BC and later was ordained a priest in 1986 by Bishop Paul O'Byrne. Fr. Tran has served in the Diocese of Calgary ever since. We are blessed to have him as our pastor.
